Daniel Carr, a 21-year-old Dagenham & Redbridge striker, has expressed an interest in representing the Trinidad and Tobago national football team.
The England-born player qualifies to play for the twin-island republic through his parentage.
“I have trained with the Trinidad and Tobago U-20 team in the past, but now I feel ready to represent the senior team. I am playing professional football in League Two and I have been getting good experiences.
I want to play in a World Cup and playing for Trinidad gives me the best opportunity to do so,” said Carr.
The former Reading F.C. youth player believes he has the qualities required to impact the team in a positive way.
“Many coaches don’t give younger players an opportunity to express their talent, but I believe I have the qualities to shine. All I need is the chance.
The season ends in May, so my goal is to get some goals and hopefully I will be a Soca Warrior soon.”
