Another goal x Janssen (Almere City). 5-0. And once again, as I post ... a consolation goal by Qatar. 5-1.

Look at football (tournaments, friendlies) all these countries playing and then we does want to show up with 2-6 weeks of local training to beat these teams. Unrealistic.   :banginghead:

Mexico up 2-0 versus China with 63 of the 80 minutes played. Both second half goals: the first immediately after the restart, and the 2nd about 18 minutes later. Cisneros netted both.

In the preceding match, Morocco and the Ivory Coast played to a tense 0-0 draw. The quality in the second half was better than what was put down in the first.

Tough reality. Some nations have as many as three (3) separate teams up and running right now within the U20 and the U23 age band.

China: likely the worst team in this tournament. Cyah finish, cyah defend, cyah pass.

Mexico for one....but one could argue that they have a deep enough talent pool to field three sides

The reason why Mex. is and probably will always be the best in football, because football is #1,2,3. Yes they play baseball, basketball, even American football. A couple good tennis players and race walkers and quite a few excellent middle and lite weght boxers. Football is king, queen, prince in that country. They have a big talent pool. They have an excellent football league. probably the best organized league in this hemisphere. They have excellent stadiums that can rival those in Euro. Their football league get a massive amount of sponsorship.  They play with passion. And least but not  last, they have home advantage in the high altitude.

At the moment, it looks to be a final between Morocco and France. Mexico started bravely but Morocco found a different gear to craft a well-constructed goal to bring things level right after the half. Now 2-1 with less than 3 minutes left to get to 80 minutes (Toulon plays 80 minute matches). Imagine that clash because playing in Toulon is like a home game for Morocco.

Final confirmed. Morocco will face France in the final, becoming only the second CAF team to accomplish the feat.

Mexico was in it down to the last play of the game: a free kick they won about 30 yards out ... Maybe a tad less. Parried to safely by the MOR keeper and that was it for them.

Highlights of the final.

Despite what the link indicates, the final score was France 3 Morocco 1. Creditable performance by Morocco who fielded a team comprised entirely of local-based players.
