:applause: I have to applaud this man on a remarkable career. He never made the game about himself the way almost all the superstars do and he quietly won championships. One of if not the greatest power forwards of all time. All the best Timmy!!!

Carmelo Anthony has finalized buyout with the Atlanta Hawks, giving back $2.4M of his $27.9M salary, league sources tell ESPN. That's veteran's minimum he'll get back with new team. Anthony will wait to clear waivers in 48 hours to officially tell Rockets of intentions to sign.

I don't understand how this works, did ATL pay him the $27.9M he was supposed to make this year and he gave back $2.4M? Or he gave ATL that amount without being paid?

In this case tanking(cheating) did not pay.

they changed the rules of the weighted balls. The worst team had a 25% chance before, this year the worst team only had 14% . The NBA is trying to avoid tanking.... a bit too late, Philly did it for years and the NBA did nothing... same team for years.
