Why does the footer on bottom of the page say Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) when Jackulito already spun his web and changed it to Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA). Somebody help me please. What's going on? Did it change again to TTFF? Did they run out of paper? How will they be taken seriously if they can't prove that their documents are authentic. Flex, Tallman, Lasana some research into this please as the "mainstream" media seem to be asleep at the switch. Hope they fix this before they mess up the chances of other players

This game will show me if this team has real character. For the last year our best offensive players have been KJ &  Molino. Our best defender at the GC was Bateau. Without any of those players I'm intrigued to see who will step up vs a big team.

‘Warriors” in Salt Lake City for Mexico friendly
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA)

Trinidad and Tobago’s senior men’s team are in Salt Lake City preparing ahead of Friday’s International Friendly with 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup champions Mexico at the Rio Tinto Stadium from 8pm.

Members of the team arrived in Salt Lake on Sunday evening and will be part of a five-day training camp which falls into the preparations for the upcoming 2018 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying semi-final round which commences in November.

The local-based players along with European-baseds defenders Aubrey David and Radanfah Abu Bakr traveled from Port of Spain with Stephen Hart and the rest of the backroom staff while US-based quartet Kevan George,Joevin Jones, Trevin Caesar and Rundell Winchester joined the team later on Sunday night.

Also arriving on Sunday were English-based midfielder Andre Boucaud and Mexican-based defender Yohance Marshall. Scheduled to arrive on Monday and Tuesday are Khaleem Hyland, Jonathan Glenn, Mekeil Williams and Cordell Cato. Barnet defender Gavin Hoyte will not travel for the game after the T&T team received news on Sunday night that his club had turned down a request for his release.

“We’re here and we’ll try to get in a decent amount of preparation ahead of the match,” Hart told TTFA Media. “The important thing is being able to access the players and have them together for a few days because this is what the program is going to be like when the World Cup qualification comes around. Getting the players together is vital and we’ll use these few days to go over some things in relation to the game and our general state for the campaign coming up,” he added.

The T&T team trained once on Monday evening at Lakeside Park and is based at the Downtown Marriott Hotel.

The Mexico team arrived in Salt Lake City on Monday. Their thirteen European-based players met the rest of the squad in Mexico City on Sunday before traveling. Veteran Rafa Marquez has been recalled with Carlos Vela keeping his place and Tigres trio Jorge Torres Nilo, Jesus Duenas and Javier Aquino being selected by interim head coach Ricardo Ferretti. Mexico will also play Argentina on September 8th.

T&T goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams, who missed the 4-4 draw with “El Tri” at the CONCACAF Gold Cup due to a hamstring injury, is back in the squad and is spoke about the values of such a high profile international friendly for T&T.

“This is another step in our quest and preparations to qualify for the World Cup. We are looking for continuation after having such a good showing at the Gold Cup. It’s our first friendly after the Gold Cup and I think playing against a team like Mexico is good for us,” Williams told TTFA Media on Monday.

“I think the game will be an attractive one and obviously people will be looking to see if we can maintain the kind of form we had from that previous game (against Mexico). We will be looking to put on a good showing but again the bigger focus is on the preparation for the World Cup qualifiers,” he added.

The temperature range is around 30 degrees celsius in Utah which is 4,327 feet above sea level. Here is home to MLS club Real Salt Lake and NBA team Utah Jazz

The Rio Tinto Stadium holds just around 22,000 and is sold out for Friday’s game. There will be live television coverage in the US on UniMas and Univision Deportes Network in Spanish, and ESPN News in English.

Peralta, Montes Out For Mexico

Peralta, Montes Out For Mexico
By Ivan Sanchez-Carrasco (vavel.com)

Club America forward Oribe Peralta and Leon's Luis Montes will both miss Mexico's upcoming friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina after picking up injuries this past weekend in Liga MX play.

Peralta picked up a back injury during America’s 2-0 win over Mexican City rival Cruz Azul. While Montes picked up a right thigh injury during Leon’s 3-1 win over Toluca on Sunday.

Peralta will be replaced by Club Tijuana’s Henry Martin. The twenty two year old Mexican gets his first call up to the Mexican National team. Martin has spent the majority of his professional career in the second division of Mexican soccer with Venados F.C.

Montes will be replaced by Tigres Israel Jimenez. Jimenez makes his return to the National team. With six caps to his name the call up isn’t all that surprising since he plays his club soccer for interim coach Ricardo Ferretti.

Martin and Jimenez replacing Montes and Peralta means that neither LA Galaxy forward Giovanni Dos Santos, nor younger brother Jonathan of Villarreal will earn a spot on the national team for the upcoming friendlies. This may lead to speculation that interim Mexico coach Ricardo Ferretti doesn’t see the brothers as options for the playoff match against the United States on October 10th.

On the field, Martin will join the attacking front of Raul Jimenez, Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela. Joining the three European based Mexican attackers means that Martin’s chances might be slim and he will have to make the most of his time given. As for Israel Jimenez, the right back will be battling for playing time with Mexican regular Paul Aguilar. The former Olympic gold medalist joining the squad as a defender to replace the midfielder Montes means that club teammate Jesus Duenas will move from a right back option to the midfield for El Tri.

Mexico plays Trinidad and Tobago on Friday in Salt Lake City and Argentina on Tuesday September 8th in Arlington Texas.

Mexico’s Televisa to film documentary in T&T.
By Shaun Fuentes (Guardian).

Mexican television station Televisa Deportes will have a crew in Port-of-Spain next week to record a documentary on football in T&T ahead of the September 4 international friendly between the Soca Warriors and Mexico in Utah.

Mexico and T&T has a long rivalry and recent string of impressive performances by T&T, in particular the 4-4 draw with El Tri at the CONCACAF Gold Cup has brought much interest to T&T.

Among those Televisa will feature include Everald “Gally” Cummings, Steve David, Clayton Ince, Stern John, Angus Eve, Dwight Yorke, Russell Latapy and TTFA president Raymond Tim Kee. The interviews will be conducted by Alberto Lati, a journalist and writer who has interviewed characters such as Dalai Lama, Madonna, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Schumacher and Roger Federer.

The documentary will be aired to millions of viewers through Televisa’s main platforms in Mexico, Latin America, United States and Canada.

Can anyone get a copy of this?

Love these vids that we get to see on their travels.
T&T getting more love than back home !

But a suggestion tho, sometimes in the sessions or even highlights, maybe NOT using music over the original audio is a good idea.
Hearing the sounds of the game or training adds a nice feel to the vid as well.

‘Warriors’ tangle with Mexico in Utah

‘Warriors’ tangle with Mexico in Utah
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA)

Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors will be part of an event that saw the fastest sellout in Rio Tinto Stadium history setting the stage for a hopefully action filled International Friendly with Mexico on Friday at 8pm (10pm TT time) in Salt Lake City.

The game will serve as a World Cup qualifier warm up for both teams but the significance is high as “El Tri” will be playing for the first time under new manager Ricardo Ferretti and the “Soca Warriors” will be looking to push on from their strong Gold Cup showing and build upon their performances which included a spirited comeback in the 4-4 draw with their opponents in Charlotte.

There were some initial fears that the game might get lost in the haze of Labor Day weekend here but the game’s sell out in a flash proved otherwise. Soccer United Marketing (SUM) and Real Salt Lake reported that just tickets sold out within 48 hours for the venue which holds just under 22,000.

"I just don't think anybody thought we would do it in 48 hours," said Trey Fitz-Gerald, Real Salt Lake’s vice president of media and communications.

"It's really fun to be able to bring other kinds of sports and teams that otherwise you normally wouldn't be able to see here," Jeff Robbins, president and CEO of the Utah Sports Commission added.

There is no Kenwyne Jones, Kevin Molino or Sheldon Bateau in the T&T squad but Keron Cummings is a name that the Mexicans will remember and the likes of Cordell Cato, Joevin Jones, Kevan George, Andre Boucaud, Yohance Marshall and Khaleem Hyland are notable faces. The incoming Trevin Caesar and Marcus Joseph will be looking to make an impression as well.

The competition for the goalkeeping spot is stiff with Jan Michael Williams back to full fitness and Marvin Phillip, who saved in the 4-4 draw with Mexico in July also in good form. Forward Jonathan Glenn will be hoping he gets a chance to shoulder some of T&T’s attacking responsibilities while defenders Daneil Cyrus, Aubrey David Radanfah Abu Bakr, Mekeil Williams, forwards Rundell Winchester and Willis Plaza will look to add more to the T&T line up.

“There is no number two at the moment,” Hart said. “They are both fighting very hard for that first position in goal and that’s how it should be. The other positions are also up for grabs and I think the players all realize this. This game will be a good one to see how much they respond and of course it’s all in relation to our preparation for the World Cup qualification.”

Williams has been made captain on this trip and he is anticipating a tough encounter.

“We all know what Mexico are capable of. I think the result in the last game and the way we showed up against them, in a way spoiling it for them, will make them more aware of us and they will want to show their class. But we have been making good progress and we will be looking to continue that in this game. We will not be intimidated and I think this is where matches like this ply a vital role in preparing us for the games we will play in the qualifiers. We have to be able to stand strongly against any opponent under any conditions,” he said.

T&T team trained on Thursday morning and also had a light session later in the day at the match venue which was once home to former T&T players Leslie Fitzpatrick and Marlon Rojas.

The Mexicans will look to starboy Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who signed with German side Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United on Tuesday. But it is uncertain how much of a role he will play as he was scheduled to arrive in Utah only on Thursday. Club America striker Oribe Peralta and Leon midfielder Luis Montes dropped out of the original squad after picking up injuries in Liga MX matches last weekend. They were replaced by Tigres right-back Israel Jimenez and Club Tijuana youngster Henry Martin.

Carlos Vela, PSV midfielder Andres Guardado and veteran Rafa Marquez are the other players to look out for in the Mexican team. Jesus Corona was also withdrawn due to visa issues. He signed for Dutch club FC Twente earlier this week.

Guardado said the Mexicans were aiming to start well under Ferretti. “We are hoping to start well under the new coach. Our intention is to prepare well and also go onto qualify for the Confederations Cup so these games are important for us,” he said, looking ahead to Friday’s game and their next friendly with Argentina in Dallas on Tuesday.

Both teams have met 20 times with Mexico leading the series with 12 wins, four draws and three wins for T&T.

The game will be shown live on GISL TV4, ESPN 3, Fox Sports GO, Univision Deportes USA, UniMas, Azteca 7, Planea Fútbol, Gala TV and on DirecTV.

CONCACAF Champions League experience primes Marcus Joseph for Trinidad and Tobago duty
CONCACAF.com

Although still patching his wounds following the latest round of Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) play, Central FC’s Marcus Joseph has found the motivation to rebound.

The 24-year-old and his Sharks teammates, in the club’s first-ever SCCL appearance, have found the early going challenging. Road defeats to the LA Galaxy (5-1) and Communicaciones (1-0) have left the Caribbean champion at the foot of Group D.

Despite Central’s struggles, Joseph’s play has helped him earn a Trinidad & Tobago recall for a friendly international against Mexico on Friday. The sides played to a 4-4 draw in July’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.

“It (SCCL) shows that I can play at that level,” Joseph told CONCACAF.com. “I just need to step up and make myself a better player.”

With the captain and lead striker Kenwyne Jones not suiting up for the Mexico match, a spot has opened up in the Soca Warriors offense. It is a void that Joseph hopes to fill.

“It is a great feeling to be back on the team and play against Mexico,” said the attacker, who was on the field for 90 minutes against Comunicaciones before giving way to late sub Kerry Baptiste.

A man of very few words, Joseph is content to let his talent do the talking. While as a member of Point Fortin Civic FC, he was the 2014/15 TT Pro League’s third leading scorer with 15 goals.

What can be expected of him come Friday? Joseph replied simply, saying: “I hope to do well against Mexico, maybe score.”

Keeping it simple, with a focused attitude, just might bring Joseph and the Soca Warriors more success.
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.

‘Warriors’ tangle with Mexico in Utah.
T&T Guardian Reports.

T&T’s Soca Warriors will be part of an event that saw the fastest sellout in Rio Tinto Stadium history, setting the stage for a hopefully action filled international Friendly with Mexico on Friday at 8pm (10pm TT time) in Salt Lake City.

There were some initial fears that the game might get lost in the haze of Labour Day weekend here but the game’s sell out in a flash proved otherwise. Soccer United Marketing (SUM) and Real Salt Lake reported that tickets sold out  within 48 hours for the venue which holds just under 22,000.
“I just don’t think anybody thought we would do it in 48 hours,” said Trey Fitz-Gerald, Real Salt Lake’s vice president of media and communications.

“It’s really fun to be able to bring other kinds of sports and teams that otherwise you normally wouldn’t be able to see here,” Jeff Robbins, president and CEO of the Utah Sports Commission added.

There is no Kenwyne Jones, Kevin Molino nor Sheldon Bateau in the T&T squad but Keron Cummings is a name that the Mexicans will remember and the likes of Cordell Cato, Joevin Jones, Kevan George, Andre Boucaud, Yohance Marshall and Khaleem Hyland are notable faces.

Forward Jonathan Glenn will be hoping he gets a chance to shoulder some of T&T’s attacking responsibilities while defenders Daneil Cyrus, Aubrey David,  Radanfah Abu Bakr, Mekeil Williams, forwards Rundell Winchester and  Willis Plaza will look to add more to the T&T line up.

“There is no number two at the moment,” Hart said.  “They are both fighting very hard for that position in goal and that’s how it should be.

T&T team trained yesterday morning and also had a light session later in the day at the match venue which was once home to former T&T players Leslie Fitzpatrick and Marlon Rojas.

The Mexicans will look to starboy Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, who signed with German side Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United on Tuesday.

The game will be shown live on ESPN 3, Fox Sports GO, Univision Deportes USA, UniMas, Azteca 7, Planea Fútbol, Gala TV and on DirecTV.

The march to Russia begins for Warriors.
By Alvin Corneal (Guardian).

This is the start of a journey which this country has travelled before, hoping that our senior footballers can get used to evading the humps along the way. For coach Stephen Hart and his squad, the level of confidence will probably be higher than previous occasions, especially in the last two Gold Cup tournaments.

The experts will always say that a team is as good as its last game, theoretically correct, but it is naïve to assume that we shall guarantee success at all times. Mexico is definitely one of the best teams in world football and despite that exciting 4–4 in the Gold Cup contest with the Soca Warriors almost two months ago, the onus is on the team to show that the previous result was no fluke.

It has been noted that a few of our top players such as Sheldon Bateau, Kenwyne Jones, and a few others will miss this warm up. However, this is yet another test for Joevin Jones, Kevan George, Atulla Guerra, Andre Boucaud and Johance Marshall. There has been very little by way of training sessions before leaving here, but they were safely in Salt Lake City, five days before the game.

This could be a factor since the weather will be slightly different in terms of temperature, altitude, and time difference. One thing is clear: the selected Mexican team includes a few players who were not in the Gold Cup. Rafael Marquez, Aquino, and Javier Chicarito Hernandez, are added to the already established strength of players like Andres Quardado, Velo, Peralta, superstar Giovani Santos and a group of fine players.

Surely, the team chosen by their coaching staff tells a story of respect for the Warriors. They are expecting another close encounter and coach Hart should treat that signal as important as a competitive game. Unlike the Fifa World Cup, these games provide a guideline for their coaching staff. It also exposes some valuable assessment for both sides.

Mexico will not wish to lose this game, as they will have to face Argentina four days afterwards, a fixture which would be top priority for them. T&T may find that the absence of the key players cannot allow the situation to change, and the challenge can be a tough one. From the looks of the Mexican defence, they have decided that T&T must not be exposed to space in and around the opponent’s penalty area, recalling that they conceded four goals in their last match.

Salt Lake City stadium is relatively small, when comparing them with LA, New Jersey, or Washington. Clearly, there is no room for taking this game lightly, and the professional approach will be to seek victory this time around, just to earn psychological points for future encounters. One must hope that the fans here will be able to witness the match in TV, so that we can all exercise our own assessment of our team.

Good luck to the lads. Go for the best result.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Atullah and Peltier need to show up, when they on the field. The last GC was not their best performance.

Both ah them wasn't call.

I dont rate Ataullah, he just to inconsisteny and does fall asleep on the field.

Peltier, if he can fix his mentality, he go be ok, as a sub.
