178. Serious total.

Now to bowl economically, put some pressure on.

Well done Red Steel! Well done captain Bravo!  I never expected them to win it all...I thought our batting was too feeble and we were a bowler short, but they found their legs on the home stretch and got it done. Well done fellas :applause:

Too bad there's no more Champions league....would have been nice to see a Trini team there again.

Bravo: T&T, this is for you

Confident all the way, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel skipper Dwayne Bravo said he never doubted that they could pull off the victory against the Barbados Tridents to clinch their first Hero Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 title.

The Red Steel defeated the Tridents by 20 runs in the final at Queen’s Park Oval last night, and after the win the Red Steel skipper dedicated the title to the T&T fans that supported them throughout the season.

“Words can’t explain how we feel. Thanks to fans, they came out and really supported us and they made this special for us today,” he said after the win. “We always fancied our chances here at home,” he added. “On a bouncier pitch it could have been a different situation. But we knew this game we had it in the bag. I don’t want to sound like I am boasting but we had it,” Bravo added.

“No disrespect to the Tridents but their attack is more suited for bouncier pitches in Barbados. We were comfortable playing against them at home and both times we scored 150 plus,” Bravo explained.

Bravo, who was awarded the Hero of the Tournament award and finished with the most wickets, said the victory was a team effort with all the players contributing.

“This tournament, we played three games on the road and had a big break, but the management team kept us calm. When we looked at the table we were at the bottom but we knew we had five crucial games at home and we knew that it would be difficult to beat us at home.

“All the credit goes to my team-mates, the management staff and the people of Trinidad and Tobago. This is the best crowd in the entire world to play cricket in front of and I want to say thanks to the people of Trinidad and Tobago and the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for coming out and supporting us tonight.

“This goes out for the county, to my best friend Chris Gayle, my best friend Kieron Pollard, hard luck, no love lost. Trinidad and Tobago this is for you,” Bravo added.

On paper this was a strong team. But they started off horribly.

Give them credit, they finished with a bang.

I pay mild attention to this tournament due to so many of our best players being placed with other teams.

But kudos to them.
