Ronnie Simmons

Ronnie Simmons was one hell of a player. Missed opportunity. If I had half his ability, I would have been a super star.

That's only half the reason.

When I started at Fatima, the year before and in my first year, a thousand people at a game was normal.

In my last few years, you'd get a few hundred and only becz the grounds was across the school.

They would make a better effort for Intercol and we would get about a thousand plus. Basically the quality of the team dictated the amount of a crowd they could pull.

I saw Fatima play Trinity East in Trincity today..I left with 5 to go with Fatima leading 3-0.

Under Hayden Martin they draw 2 and win 1 so it looking like he getting a response. I liked the look of the #10 for Fatima, Sebastian Camacho. Played up top but generally plays the attacking mid role and looks good there but he had a nice game today. Assist with a dangerously whipped corner for the 1st and a sweet move for the 3rd when the right winger played it into him for a 1-2 but he used the run and turned to his left and with his weaker foot spread it to the left wing for the next wide man to get onto and he was then fouled in a last ditch attempt and Fatima got a penalty.

Some of the fans told me Derek King spoke with him after the Fatima San Juan game and told him keep it up, he has national quality. In fact in the last 2 wired868 reports I read good updates about him from the games.

I hope he gets a run out in his favoured role soon so I can take a further look.

Why Benedicts and Naps home games are not being played at Skinner Park? Skinner Park has always been the climax atmosphere for Intercol

Anybody knows why Benedict's home games are now played at the Mahaica Oval?

Don't know why the pick Mahaica.  But they can't play at the Commons because it is in a mess.  Commons need some serious work.
Point might actually make sense as a home ground for them since several of their players are from down there.

Why can't they use Pres ground. The area is pretty big. They can put tempory stands around the field.

I don't know what condition Union Hall is in.  Pres haven't played there in years so that ground might be worse than the Commons.

Can someone please tell me how San Juan is at the top of the SSFL table, with only 16 points, while Pres Sando is at #2 with 17 points???

San Juan won: 5 ; Drew: 1 ; Lost: 2; Their record should reflect 16 points, yet it reflects 18.

Pres Sando won: 5 ; Drew: 2; Lost: 1:  Their record correctly reflects 17 points.

So, what am I missing here in the Math?

Royalians awarded full points in abandoned match
By Sean Taylor (Express).

QRC CONFIRMED AS WINNERS

Queen's Royal College (QRC) have been awarded the win and a full three points from their aborted fixture with Fyzabad Secondary at their St Clair ground on September 26 in the BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL).

The match was blown off approximately ten minutes from full-time, as referee Larry Lalchan was unable to maintain order as things spiralled out of control, spilling onto the sidelines.

Fyzabad's Ronaldo London struck QRC midfielder Janos Lashley in the face after they both contested an air ball close to the touchline near the home bench.

Jahrique Stewart raced off the Royalians bench to confront London, which incited corresponding reactions from the Fyzabad bench, resulting in the match taking a lengthy pause. Both teams had to play out the following two matches without the official result from the fixture, as the Discplinary Committee of the SSFL were still perusing the match report and considering the evidence presented.

The committee met last Friday, when the decision was made that the result would be awarded in favour of the Royalians, who were leading 3-2 at the point when the match had been abandoned. Therefore, QRC now have 13 points from eight matches, which moved them up from ninth to seventh place before kick-off yesterday.

Wins for Tigers, Saints; San Juan North upset in SSFL.
By Sean Taylor (Express).

With Presentation College San Fernando on a bye, Shiva Boys Hindu College failing to win, and San Juan North Secondary flopping in the south, defending champions Naparima College regained their lead in the BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League yesterday.

Naparima found back their scoring boots when Isaiah Hudson scored a treble while Renaldo Francois chipped in with two of his own, as the move across the to Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella did not deter ‘Naps’ in the least, with the restored league leaders beating Trinity College East 5-1. Keshorn Hackshaw scored the only goal for Trinity East.

St Mary's College were also big winners, as they also racked up five goals when they beat Speyside High 5-0 over in Tobago. Ethan Shim scored a hat-trick, while Aaron Skeene scored the other goal for the ‘Saints’. The fifth goal came from an own goal.

Naps regain SSFL lead
T&T Newsday Reports

NAPARIMA regained the lead in the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) BGTT /First Citizens Premier Division yesterday.

The “Naps” team, who entered yesterday’s round of matches in fourth place, crushed the table-proppers Trinity East 5-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.

San Juan North, the overnight leaders, were beaten 3-1 away to the struggling Fyzabad.

Shiva Boys remained in third spot after they were held to a 1-1 draw by QRC at Penal, with Presentation San Fernando, who were on a bye, slipped to fourth spot.

St Mary’s returned to winning ways after crushing hosts Speyside 5-0, with Ethan Shim scoring a hat-trick, while Aaron Skeene and an own goal added to Speyside’s woes.

St Anthony’s won 2-1 away to Fatima, St Augustine blanked their guests St Benedict’s 3-0 and Carapichaima East registered their first win of the season, with a 1-0 triumph over Trinity North.

In related news, the SSFL Disciplinary Committee met on Friday last at the Malick Secondary School and ruled that the September 26 game between QRC and Fyzabad, at the QRC Ground in St Clair, will be awarded to QRC and the scoreline will remain at 3-2. The game was called off in the 80th minutes due to a mini-brawl between both teams.

Happy to see that good sense has prevailed in the form of three points for QRC.
