On Netflix I scoped out Dead Snow and the sequel Dead Snow: Red vs Dead.
These are Norwegian comedy horror.  Not everyone's cup of tea but they were funny with outlandish gore.

Winter in Wartime (Dutch: Oorlogswinter) is a 2008 Dutch war film directed by Martin Koolhoven. The screenplay was written by Mieke de Jong, Paul Jan Nelissen and Martin Koolhoven and was based on the novel, Winter in Wartime by Jan Terlouw.

The film is about a young Dutch boy named Michiel van Beusekom who tries to help the Dutch resistance during World War II by helping a British airman stay out of German hands during the occupation of the Netherlands.

Caught Metro Manila last night. Different.. but eye opening, when it comes to poverty and life/sacrifices.

The Dead Lands - (Lawrence Makoare was wicked in this) After his tribe is slaughtered through an act of treachery, the teenage son of a slain Maori chieftain looks to avenge his father's murder and bring peace and honor to the souls of his loved ones.

Beasts of No Nation (Oscar Worthy IMO for best picture, lead and supporting actor) A drama based on the experiences of Agu, a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country.

Escobar: Paradise Lost - In Colombia, a young surfer meets the woman of his dreams - and then he meets her uncle, Pablo Escobar. Wicked job by Benicio Del Toro.
