Nakhid’s son progressing at AU.
By Shaun Fuentes (Guardian).

Panos Nakhid, son of former national captain David Nakhid is currently on a football scholarship at American University in the United States and is reportedly making steady progress in the game.

Panos, born in Greece, has had some strong performances for American, after joining them on scholarship from the David Nakhid International Football Academy in September last year.

Among his highlights included an 89th minute game winner in a 1-0 victory over Loyola University to guide American to their 10th win of the season.

American reached the quarter-finals of the Patriot League but lost on penalty kicks to the US Military Academy.

The Washington Post highlighted Panos recently, mentioning the fact that his father David was a star member of their 1985 squad.

Panos, during his earlier days, was MVP at the Como Cup in Italy in 2009 and also participated in the Mediterranean International Cup in Barcelona in 2011 and 2012. He was named to the Northern Greek All Star team in 2012.

David Nakhid played top flight football in Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, USA and Belgium.

He established his international academy in 2006. He obtained a double major in international relations and economics at American University where he was also inducted in the University’s hall of fame in 2005.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

pittsburghpanthers.com

Kyle Brathwaite was a member of the Trinidad & Tobago U17 Men’s National Team during the 2012-13 season and most recently has trained with the prestigious D.C. United Academy squad, where he holds one of two out of market spots, as a center back during the 2014-15 season. Prior to that, he was a member of the Carolina Rapids U-15/16 team in 2012-13 along with future teammate Anselmo.

With the Trinidad & Tobago national club, Brathwaite competed in the Tournament of the Americas in Columbia in November of 2012. The following year he was one of 21 invited players to the D.C. United Academy US Soccer Training Center. It was one of a number of trips to US Training Centers for Brathwaite.

In July, 2011, Brathwaite was named to the same TDS ‘Team of the Month’ as Anselmo as a defender. According to TDS, it was on the basis of Brathwaite’s play that helped promote Gaston United to the Region III South Regional Premier League. Prior to his ‘Team of the Month’ recognition, Brathwaite participated in the id2 National Identification Camp.

His father Jarrette Brathwaite, played collegiately for the Charlotte 49ersand professionally in both the United States and Germany.

“Kyle is a talented and experienced player who we believe can contribute immediately on our backline.  Kyle was formally in the U16 National Soccer Team pool, and has played United States Soccer Developmental Academy (USSDA) level soccer as well. We feel that Kyle will compete primarily as a central defender although he is a versatile player who could play wide as well”

Forbes and Debesette sisters selected to D2CCA All-Region Team
gobuffsgo.com

Karyn Forbes, Khadidra Debesette and Khadisha Debesette of the West Texas A&M women's soccer team have been voted as members of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association South Central All-Region Team. Forbes earned first-team honors for the first time and will now be under consideration for All-American voting while Khadidra and Khadisha were two of 13 athletes to be named to the second-team.

Forbes was a 2015 First-Team LSC All-Conference and All-Tournament selection while leading the Lady Buffs in assists (4). After battling injuries and international duties during her first season at WT, Forbes played a key role in the team's run to the LSC Championship game scoring the game winner against Midwestern State in the quarterfinals. She scored five goals, including three game-winners, on 79 shots and 34 shots on goal.

Khadidra Debesette led the team offensively as she scored a team-high eight goals and 18 points, including a school record four against Texas A&M-International on Sept 28. She earned Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 30 for her performance against TAMUI.

Khadisha Debesette was a 2015 First-Team LSC All-Conference and All-Tournament selection after starting 17 matches for the Lady Buffs this past season. She was part of a backline that had seven shutouts and scored her lone goal against Lubbock Christian on Oct. 28.

All 13 first-team All-Region selections will now be placed on the national ballot for All-American consideration. The All-American teams are scheduled to be released on Wednesday, December 2.

The first thing you have to ask is how many Trinis playing at NCAA Division I schools? This is where the initial list of players come from.

Massasoit's Andrew Revanales named All-American
By Jim Fenton (The Enterprise)

Andrew Revanales of Massasoit Community College has earned All-America honors in men’s soccer.

The sophomore forward, who is from Trinidad and Tobago, was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America first team, it was announced this week.

Revanales, who returned to school after playing for Massasoit in 2010, helped the Warriors reach the national tournament for the first time since 1995.

He had team highs of 22 goals and 14 assists for 58 points and was tied for eighth nationally in assists, tied for 10th in points and 13th in goals.

In the Region 21 championship game at Dean College, Revanales scored the game-winning goal with 52 seconds left in double overtime.

As a freshman five seasons earlier, Revanales received honorable mention on the All-America squad. He was out of school for the following years.

He had 50 goals and 19 assists for 119 points in two seasons at Massasoit.

Revanales is one of four Warriors chosen to the NSCAA All-East Region team.

Cardoso had 16 goals and 40 points in his freshman season. Erazo added seven goals and seven assists as a midfielder.

Baah was a top defender as a central defensive back during his two seasons and helped Massasoit record seven shutouts.
