2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in South Korea
« on: January 03, 2016, 11:15:12 AM »
Does anyone know about our preparation for this tournament?

Who is our coach?
Who is our assistant coach?

Jamaica Federation announced that Ricardo Gardner will coach and be assisted by Altimont "Freddie" Butler. Jamaica is having a week long camp from January 8th to January 15th for all players from previous U17 team that beat USA in group stage but lost to USA on penalties for the last spot in FIFA U17 World Cup.

Jamaican Federation also announced a 3-day camp starting January 15th for new players including international players in preparation for the qualifiers.

The US Soccer Federation announced 36 players invited to U20 camp starting January 8th along with three matches to signal their preparation.

What are we doing?

With the Women's coach dismissed and so much talk of Technical Director changing, does anyone know the whispering on:

Men's U17 Coach?
Men's U20 Coach?

That technical committee is obsolete.  No disrespect, but they're seriously dated.

Trini 2018

Not only these USA based overseas players coming in early, I have been told by a very reliable source that that they have two players from England that will be in the next camp. 1 from Arsenal and 1 from Liverpool.

They have strong interest because of Jamaica results at the U17, nearly beating USA to go to World Cup.

I know we have plenty of talent but does no word is really bad news

Tobago has a good few players. I know a few but their problem is that they are too young. They are just months too old for the U17 Team, and unless you are a Dwight Yorke they not looking in your direction.

They will be competing against guys that have 2 to 3 years experience playing at a higher level and that experience trumps "most " talent.

Flex-Thanks for adding a name to the pool. I will include Jareib Louis(Mason Hall)

The lists that I am providing is of prospective past players and past U17 players likely to get a call up. I am open to anyone adding players to a prospective pool regardless of Trinidad, Tobago, UK, America, Europe or Canada.

Since I am providing names of Trinidad based players it would be fantastic to see some Trinidadians providing names of Tobago players.

The point is to find the BEST players wherever they are based.

This has nothing to do with working hard. It is about experience as apposed to skill.
