Percentage of gates and attendance
« on: September 07, 2012, 07:13:05 AM »
I am curious when a game is played in the PFL how is the gate split?

What percentage goes to the home team/visitors, the stadium and the PFL?
Does any go to the TTFF?

What is the average attendance for some teams? The Press never tells us, perhaps those on the forum who have attended could let us know.

What was the biggest crowd at a PFL game last yr?

Having said that what was attendance like for the national intercol final last yr?

Teams play 3 rounds: Home, away & neutral.  You take the gate receipts from home games and Pro League organise and take receipts from neutral games.

The stadium is free of charge, but of course, home team pays for ambulance, etc. as well as gate people, concessions, dj and equipment hire, ball boys, sweet plates for players etc

At double headers, gates are split 50/50 between home teams, even if one teams spends more on promotion (although, to be fair, teams like Caledonia, North East and W.Connection tend to liaise)

I would estimate average attendance at around 800 (but thats just a guesstimate!)

You are invited to participate in a questionnaire, entitled “TT Pro League Attendance.” This is an independent study being conducted by Dimelon Westfield, MBA, of the Sports Company of Trinidad & Tobago, 111-117 Henry Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad, W.I., and Damien Westfield, Ph. D., of Young Harris College, Department of Communication Studies, 1 College Street, Young Harris, GA 30582, 868-779-6349, ydimelon@aim.com, or 706-969-4691, westdami@yahoo.com.

The purpose of this study is to examine factors for the low attendance rate at professional football league matches in Trinidad & Tobago. Your participation in the questionnaire will help stakeholders better understand how to successfully improve match attendance. We estimate that it will take about 30 minutes of your time to complete the questionnaire. You are free to contact the investigators at the above addresses and phone numbers to discuss the questionnaire.

Risks to participants are considered minimal. There will be no costs for participating, nor will you benefit from participating. The questions in this questionnaire do not ask you to reveal any personally identifying information. Only the two research team members will have access to the data during data collection. To protect your privacy, this information will be discarded at the conclusion of the study.

Your participation in this questionnaire is voluntary. You may decline to answer any question and you have the right to withdraw from participation at any time without penalty. If you wish to withdraw from the study or have any questions, contact the investigators listed above.
