Seems like all the usual suspects will be contending for a spot to Rion. There is one noticeable absence. Josanne Lucas isn't competing in any event. My guess is that she has retired.

I reckon it will take 11flat/10.9x to win the 100 in the women's event this year and possibly around 9.9x in the men's.

We'll get an idea of where everyone is. Then we can see see if they can carry that form to the league/challenge meets. What really matters is Rio though so interesting times ahead.

Call me a cynic, but I am often bemused at the 100 m times in Nationals compared to the sub-par performances overseas. Is the track fast? Is the timing system accurate? (I know it should be IOC approved.) My judgement will not be on these performances but against the world-class competition at international meets.

Domonique Williams should make the team. She is not far off of her pb. I think that might be a pb for her. As for the others, they havent imrpoved for years. Hopefully this changes for the final.

Domonique Williams ran a decent prelim there, hoping she can get the national record. Then next year she can hopefully go sub 51. Would be nice if Janeil was in good flat form too.

I won't get excited or irrational no matter how fast the sprinters run. I will wait until they run on the circuit and Rio to make any judgements.

Our women sprinters looking good so far. 4 of them have already run the Olympic standard of 11.32 so the Final will be stiff for the top 3 Olympic spots.
MLA has also run her first sub-11 of the 2016 season and looks like the favourite to win the final.

Looks so, but lets see what he looks like between now and Rio. I expect him to race one or twice more or hope so. He's woefully short on races and i don't believe practice alone will be sufficient for him to get back to PR shape, which he will need to get himself seriously into the discussion for finalist in Rio.
