These buffoons at the TTFA sure go out their way to insult the masses SMFH
i can't wait for the next few games when we get our asses handed to us by haiti, Panama and Mexico. this should be good, i'm sure to have a good bloody laugh. all who's still hoping to see us in another World Cup has a bit of waiting to do. i'd rather cut off my right hand than to see DJW suceed. from now on I'm backing panama-jamaica- and haiti.

Who coaching defense in that set up?

De man say his tactics based on speed. Sound to me like we gon fly down de field and share beats and win 5 - 3. Like Liverpool dem. That seem to be the plan.

That would have made sense if we had a true goal scorer that we can rely on. All that speed without a clinical finisher amounts to nothing. If there was a Glen or a Jorsling in the mix then maybe yea we definitely have someone who we can have a level of confidence in to finish with some level of consistency. Plaza has good speed but has balance and pivot issues. Winchester in addition to speed has a low centre of gravity and strength but his technique is poor. Caesar similar to Winchester and all three lack a bit of composure in front of goal.

Time will tell, i don't want to predict doom and gloom as they haven't kicked a ball yet in this new incarnation. We have more issues in wing back and defensive midfield positions and I don't see the level of focus being applied to those roles as far as the coaching staff is concerned.

The only plus i see is a German as a fitness coach. I see the medical staff back on-board. The less said about that the better.
Oh, I don't believe is a viable, successful plan. It just sound to me like that's the plan.

Then again, it might just be some bullshit excuse they come up with to justify leaving out KJ.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with the mens national team with the introduction of this coach

Personnel changes have been made...to the technical staff and the squad

To me there are 2 main factors at play here:

1 - I believe the TTFF felt that the previous technical staff were not competent enough to deal with the demands of the Hex.  Tactics, strategy, player selection, style of play etc were all in question.  Hence the replacement of the technical staff

2 - I believe the TTFF, and many in T&T, think that we have local based players that are good enough to truly compete with, and beat the elite teams in CONCACAF and all that is lacking is opportunity.

Soon enough we'll find out what the reality is

I will support these players. They're pawns on a chess board to this whole thing. I hope these players forget the TTFA and play their own game and find their own rhythm. It would be a sight to see shabazz and DJW getting frustrated on the sidelines. And if they threaten a blacklist that's ok because the minions won't be there forever.

I know Tom, Latas and Shabazz will do their best but they are trying to come up with a short term plan to qualify for WC which will be a miracle if it happens. World Cup is taken very seriously and countries prepare years in advance to qualify.

At least Hart had a plan. Hart had success with the team but he was going through a small bad spell (which happens to every coach). If Jan didn't get hurt vs Honduras we could of probably come away with a tie and going forward with Molino, Bostock and Cummings available the team would of definitely made a run to qualify.

You have a new coach that has a poor international results and is surrounding himself with assistants whose track records are poor on the international stage. So once again folks please don't get your hopes up it will take a miracle to get 1 pt.

He will face mounting pressure to resign, but by then he will have already asked achieved his goal, destabilizing our team and ruining our chances for the World Cup...

Saintfiet welcomes Latapy on board.
TTFA Media.

National Senior Team head coach Tom Saintfiet welcomed assistant coach Russell Latapy into his squad at Sunday’s training session at the Hasely Crawford Stadium as the team continued its preparations for the upcoming CFU Gold Cup playoff matches against Suriname on Wednesday and Haiti on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

Latapy was named as assistant coach to Saintfiet last month and joined the team for the first time on the weekend after returning from Portugal.

“The last two or three weeks I have already had a lot of contact with Russell. Today when he came into the hotel we took some time, we came together to training in the car and we spoke a little bit about my philosophy, about his ideas and about our way to work together. I am very happy that Russell is here,” Saintfiet said.

“Russell is a football man, he knows the country and he has achieved a lot as a player on top level in Europe and on the national team. He has experience also as a coach so I am very happy to add him to the technical team just like everybody else who is there and together we will form a stronger squad,” he said.

Saintfiet also spoke on the topic of Latapy’s involvement with the youth programme and how their services can be combined to benefit both.

“I think that it’s going hand in hand. I am a coach who proved in other countries not to be afraid to select 16 and 17 year old players to make their debut in the national team because on the end when we develop players, it’s to get them to the national team. In my own country Lukaku was 16 years old when he played with the national team. So if you are a talented player, maybe not yet discovered by local teams but you are a good talent, you can also have a chance in the senior national team and I will work very closely with Russell and the other national youth coach (Brian) Williams to help the development of football and to bring young players very close to the national team,” the Belgian-born coach added.

Latapy earlier stated that he was looking forward to making his contribution as senior team assistant coach.

““Again it’s an opportunity where I’ve been been called again to assist and this is exactly what I will do. I’ve represented Trinidad and Tobago for so many years and if I am being called upon again especially in my new role as staff coach for the association, to be an assistant coach for the senior team, I will go in and do my best

“The focus has to be on the new coach and his ideas and his philosophies and we need the players to pull together just like the nation and we need to come together to do the best so that we can to move forward and give the team the best possible chance,” Latapy said.

Saintfiet meantime also reiterated that he will look very closely at players’ attitude when it comes to team selection.

“I will always consider every player with a Trinidad and Tobago passport  but I will always take into account what is the attitude of a player so players who shows a negative attitude, they have to be double as good and prove that they have the right attitude to come back because we don’t win football matches with quality but we win football matches with commitment at this level,” Saintfiet said.

” I have to form a team that is ready to fight for their country and I am very happy to do that.”

Tickets for the upcoming Gold Cup playoff matches are now on sale at all Lotto Locations nationwide. There are three in one season tickets for the three matches costing $$100 for adults and $45 for children. Single match tickets cost $50 for Adults and $20 for children. TTFA Season Pass holders can access the games at no additional cost. Those TTFA Season Passes which includes access to the World Cup qualifiers also, are available at First Citizen’s Banks nationwide.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.
