Trinidad and Tobago outclass Jamaica to win Caribbean volleyball championship

Jamaica suffered a 3-0 defeat against Trinidad and Tobago in the final of the senior women's Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Championship at the National Indoor Sports Centre on Monday night.

Trinidad and Tobago showed superior spiking and blocking skills throughout the match, outclassing the Jamaicans in both departments.

The victory enabled the Trinidadians to successfully defend their title with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-10.

It was set up by excellent spiking from Darlene Ramdin, as she accompanied that, with good serving and blocking to have an all-round good game, as the Jamaicans failed to stop her.

The CAZOVA Championship also acts as a qualifier for the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Championship and both Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago earned the spots to the other round in the qualification series.

Eight teams contested the CAZOVA Championship.
