Five  Trinidad players got drafted into the new NASL in 1968...three from Benedict's  ......Lincoln Phillips and Gally Cummings from the North

The  Benedict's trio... Warren Archibald and Jan Steadman to New York ...Leroy Deleon to the west coast..Dom Basil say they couldn't  break up the trio...they go together on the same team or not at all..that's why three Benedict's players went to the New York Generals....Gally went to Atlanta.

Actually it was 1967 that Warren Archibald, Leroy Deleon, and Jan Steadman got drafted to the New York Generals, and Gally went to the Atlanta Chiefs. In 1968, Lincoln Phillips went to Baltimore Bays and Bertrand Grell joined Gally at Atlanta Chiefs.

In 68, when the NASL season was over, the pros used to comeback play with the local clubs. I saw Gally play for Paragon against Maple on St. Mary ground. I was surprised that he was kinder short. but he was stocky with amazing bursts of speed with the ball at his feet. The ball to me was always stuck to his toe. And he also had these powerful  shots. But Maple won 3-1, I think.

I met him in the airport as a supporter.
