Roberts nets a brace in Global Cebu debut

Darryl Roberts made an auspicious debut for Global Cebu FC in the Philippines Football League.

Roberts scored twice to lead the Cebuanos salvage a 2-2 draw against the Phil and James Younghusband powered FC Meralco Manila side at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Roberts’ brace foiled the efforts of the Younghusbands who scored a goal apiece for the Sparks.

It was the second consecutive draw for Global while Meralco took a point after absorbing a 7-0 loss to Ceres in their previous game.

Robert is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago national soccer team. Before coming to Global FC he played for Sparta Rotterdam, Denizlispor FC, and Samsunspor in Turkey.

Muhammet's goal broke the previous record set by Trinidad and Tobago striker Darryl Roberts who scored after 12 seconds in a game against Eskişehirspor on November 29th 2008.
