Glad we didn't open against them. Not worried. Why? Because since our first matchday versus Nicaragua (last year) I've adopted a different mental posture regarding the technical leadership of the NT. We limped to GC 2023 and there's the view (as you have understandably stated) that it's "time for Angus to show if he has what it takes". I think the real question at heart is whether he has evolved in approach and learned during the course of the gig. Some learning has taken place. What that translates to is unclear.

I like an aspect of what I am seeing today (where the ball is circulated internally), but that appreciation is tempered by the reality of who the opponent is.

Somehow i feel we got St Kitts best effort today. Jamaica and USA will rout them. We got the result we needed, an extra goal would have been nice in case it came down to a goal difference scenario but we in control of our own destiny. I felt as well as Jamaica looked yesterday, they lacked composure in the final third of the game, invited pressure which resulted in the USA equalizer but more so it was a function of their personnel on the field. I think we have more players genuinely adept at playing through midfield.

The spark from the subs was nice. They also benefitted from a dryer field, the conditions definitely affected the way our starting attack played.
First 2 goals were quality. And we still have Aubrey David in reserve.

We're giving up too much space before the 18yard box. Plus too much easy corners and free kicks. They can't afford to do this vs JA and USA.

Other than that, Eve gets a B to B+. Ok tactics against ST Kitts. Wednesday will be his true test though. I expecting JA to come out attacking and trying to control the game early.

The team gets a B+. Some plays were questionable. But I like that Auvray and Fortune are willing to hold the ball and attack. We need that.

Whatever happened to Hyland?

Daniel Phillips is actually a top defensive midfield. Would have liked to see him line up against the four English players playing for JA.

Auvray, Gill and Fortune are the future.

Happy with the result. This is the confidence we need.

Auvray is the real deal, but i'd like him to be a bit more decisive in that attacking third, conditions were terrible in the first half and that waterlogged pitch can take the energy out your legs easily go he gets a bligh today.

It looks like SKN ran out of gas playing the same group of players for the past 10 days have finally caught up with them and it does not look like they have the dept in the squad to make up for it Luckly for TT the height of the occasion got the best of them.

The people in JA was saying that they are going to win the GC and they are a top team in the Concacaf, with the players they have they should be able to beat a USA B team they let that game slip away they not ready yet.

TT should be able to deal with the paste of the game that JA plays but not the speed of game that USA plays its easy to deal with another physical and athletic team but the USA has technical players like #9 who touches and movement will cut up TT defense like butter.

i don't think hyland has been with a club for the past year. at 34years old is time to move on, though his role for T&T has been clear, and we need a couple of replacements.
jam looked potent in offense: #12 Demarai Gray (Everton), #18 Michail Antonio (West Ham) & #10 Bobby Reid (Fulham), all with good minutes in the premiership...I think their coach is relatively new to the team, so after a few games to iron things out -- I think Jam down should really be thinking about lifting this cup. [needless to say kareem moses and dem boys will have their work cut out for them]. But as seen in the US equalizer, Jamaica defense might be weakness to exploit.
I'm also encouraged (for T&T, by) how Haiti is squaring evenly with Qatar and we just squared with them. Could be the year the caribbean moves far. Kick US out of the tournament is a sure way for those boys to get attention [US lose money on half empty stadiums] for further contracts.
