Paragon to celebrate World Cup qualification

Paragon Sports and Cultural Club, one of the long standing sports clubs in the country, rich in football and cricket history, will celebrate the success of the T&T Soca Warriors in qualifying for the finals of the Fifa World Cup 2006 in Germany.

The celebration will take the form of a panel discussion on the subject The Soca Warriors at the World Cup Finals 2006 and After. The event will take place at the Paragon’s clubhouse, 2 Foreshore Lands Cocorite today at 7 pm.

Four knowledgeable panellists, all with distinguished careers in football, will lead the discussion:

Lincoln Phillips, T&TFF technical director, former T&T goalkeeper and later international coach;

Alvin Corneal, former T&T forward and later national and international coach;

Ken Butcher, outstanding club player in his day and later sports administrator ;

George Hislop, outstanding club player in his day and avid Soca Warriors fan.

Each panellist will make a 15 minutes presentation to be followed by comments and questions from the audience.

All sports fans especially Soca Warriors fans are invited to attend.

Yeah this thing should be Webcasted so that Soca Warriors fans & supporters on the outside could also take part and put their questions via live chat or email!

Have they considered this?! Is this event on this evening? If so too late if this idea has not been considered!

Tallman is Paragon back in existance?as a former member i would lke to know.It's the first major Club i played for when there was the POSFL,they were big in both Football and Cricket,produced players like Gally Cummings,Earl Fough,Terry Watson,Charlie Brown,Gerald Figarau,Henry Dennie and the old Coop's.Some of the biggest Carnival Fetes used to take place at their Club House in Cocorite.

Paragon have ah serious piece ah property dey. Ah know it have some corbeau out who kyah wait tuh get dey hands on it. Hopefully good sence will prevail and dey keep ah part of Tnt sporting history.
