Former national football team captain Clayton Morris is the new head coach of the Deaf Sports Trinidad and Tobago (DSTT)) Men's Futsal Team, which is preparing for in international tournament in Brazil.

The 60-year-old played 36 times for Trinidad and Tobago and led the national team during the campaign for the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

Morris is preparing the team for the 2nd Pan American Deaf Futsal Championships, which will be held from 18-24 September in Fortaleza, Brazil.

"Clayton, who is known to have extensive knowledge in the fast-paced modification of the football-based game, often uses futsal as part of his outreach incentives, in which he identifies individuals or groups such as DSTT, who seek the assistance and resources to learn more about the rules and strategies of the game," a statement in UTT Patriots newsletter read.

Morris is the head coach and works with sign language interpreter Wendell Williams, and manager Christopher Goomansingh.

The former national captain has coached Trinidad and Tobago's national futsal team in the past.
