T&T suffer a 1-0 defeat to Taiwan

TnT's senior footballers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Taiwan in their second match of the St Kitts/Nevis Sugarbowl tournament at Warner Park on Saturday evening.
TnT, on the heels of a 0-0 draw with Barbados on Thursday, reportedly enjoyed much the better of play and held possession for most of the 90 minutes but were made to ruse their missed chances at goal.

Taiwan had two looks at goal in the first half and made one count in the 45th minute.
A throw  deep in TnT's half saw the Taiwanese capitalize on a defence caught napping and there was little goalkeeper Kelvin Jack could do to prevent the shot.

Earlier, Jack blocked another effort from a free kick.

A downward header by Colin Samuel was stopped by the 'keeper midway through the first  and that was TnT's best chance before the interval. C L Financial San Juan Jabloteh striker Kerry Noray started up front with Samuel and was the most impressive of the "Soca Warriors" during his 90 minutes on the field. The team later declared him TnT's man of the match to follow up Anthony Noreiga's selection in the first match.

Joe Public's Andre Toussaint replaced Samuel and had TnT's best crack at goal but could only look on in dismay as his effort crashed off the crossbar and Noray's effort just missed the upright on the rebound.

TnT now face the host nation St Kitts/ Nevis, which defeated Barbados 3-0 in the second match of the evening, at 6pm on Sunday at  Warner Park.

Morris, who made four second half changes, said while the team looked good defensively and in their build ups towards goal, they were obviously made to rue the missed scoring opportunities.

"Now the players realize even more that goals win matches. We weren't bad at all in the rest of the play throughout but failing to put away the chances is what cost us and the players would have to just learn from this experience. We have the final match against St Kitts and this is one we will be hoping to correct the mistakes and end the tournament on a high note," said Morris.
