Hard knocking Keyeno Thomas slides in on Carlos Ruiz of Guatemala.Ma Pau SC have continued their shopping spree, signing released 32 year-old Joe Public defender Keyeno Thomas and out of contract 22 year-old San Juan Jabloteh wingback Elton John, as the Woodbrook based club targets a super season in 2010.

Both players are familiar with Eve, who played alongside Thomas at Jabloteh before holding the role as assistant coach to Englishman Terry Fenwick at the San Juan club and coaching both players.

“Our vision for this year is to finish in the top two and qualify for the (CONCACAF) Champions’ League,” said assistant coach Angus Eve this week.

A delighted Eve revealed the names of Thomas and John adding that his roster has room for four more players.

“We have room for four more players. We have already identified two players that are out of contract and hope to sign them by the end of the week to add to our offence,” he added.

During the Christmas holidays Eve announced signing Joe Public stalwart Alejandro Figueroa of Colombia and standout defender Seon Powers and San Juan Jabloteh’s duo of Devon Jamerson and Lester Peltier.

Ma Pau also resigned Anthony Wolfe and Curtis Gonzales and acquired on-loan Jabloteh players Mikel Williams and Kevin Molino on full contracts.

“We want to give our guys the exposure and opportunity abroad hence the reason that we have acquired young players,” continued Eve.

“We want a selected group of senior players like Thomas, Lyndon Andrews and Anton(Anthony) Wolfe that will help our younger players.

“Last year we were good defensively but with the new defenders coming in, we can allow Wolfe to play his regular role up front and Lyndon in midfield,” explained the Ma Pau assistant coach, who along with head coach Michael McComie guided the club to a fifth position finish last season, which was a huge jump from their debut season ninth positioned finish in 2008.

“Most of our players played their first full Pro League season last year. So we have a bunch of young players with the experience at this level and hopefully that would help us to do much better in 2010,” ended Eve.
