The Trinidad and Tobago Under 22 men’s team returned home from their satisfactory showing at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara on Saturday.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 22 footballers remained unbeaten at the 2011 Pan American Games but did not progress to the semi-finals after battling to a 1-1 draw with Uruguay in their final group game at the Omnilife Stadium, Guadalajara on Tuesday morning.

They say that goalkeepers in particular are different to all other football players. They prepare differently for the game and in practice they have their own type of training with a separate coach most times.

Trinidad and Tobago’s U-22 footballers have a fair chance of advancing to the semi-finals of the 2011 Pan American Games when they go all out for a victory in their final group stage fixture against Uruguay at the Omnilife Stadium, Guadalajara from 10 am (11am T&T time) on Tuesday.

National team midfielder Kevin Molino wants to turn himself into the goalscoring midfielder that has been lacking in national teams of recent past.

A perfectly executed volley by second half substitute Trevin Caesar earned Trinidad and Tobago a 1-1 draw with Ecuador on Sunday at the Omnilife Stadium and kept their hopes of advancing to the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Pan American Games alive.

Leslie Joel Russell played in each of Trinidad and Tobago’s three matches at the Pan American Games and explained that understanding roles was the key to the team’s solid defensive performance in their three games against Mexico, Ecuador and Uruguay.

Thursday it was the Women and Friday it was Men’s time to put on another praiseworthy display as they held  Mexico to a 1-1 draw before a partisan 35,000 home crowd  at the Omnilife Stadium, Guadalajara.
