JOE PUBLIC held on desperately to a Marley Quamina goal to edge arch- rivals Carib FC 1-0 and move into the final of the Emerald Apartments & Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association’s FA Trophy series.

Quamina got what turned out to be the only goal of the match in the 16th minute.

Valtrin United joined the Eastern Lions into the final with a hard-fought 4-3 triumph over Coast Guard.

Filroyu Douglas who notched a hat-trick opened the scoring for the Coast Guardmen in the 20th minute, but the scores were level one minute later when Dwight Crichlow scored for Valtrin.

Douglas got his second in the 30th minute to restore his team’s lead, but Clevon George knotted up the scores one more time in the 34th.

Steve Calderon got the first of a double in the 51st minute to give Valtrin the lead before Douglas levelled for the third time in the 65th minute.

But Calderon completed his double in the 82nd minute to give Valtrin the victory.

Joe Public and Valtrin now meet in the final at the Marvin Lee Stadium on September 5 from 3.30 pm.
