PENAL Rock Road sit atop the standings in this year’s Southern Football Association Petrotrin-sponsored Super League, two points clear of their nearest rivals.

But they were beaten 3-1 by Penal All Stars in their recent match at Latchoos Road, Penal, with Andre Quashie, Brent Hudson and Sheldon Bean scoring for the winners. Roger Ottway got the consolation.

Following this defeat, however, the Rock Road men lodged a protest against All Stars.

Nearest challengers Siparia Spurs had an off day as their fixture against PAL United was not played.

Alutrint La Brea All Stars were held to a 0-0 draw while Petrotrin Palo Seco edged Diamond United 3-2 in another match.

Kerry Moore netted a double and Daron Alexis got the other goal for Palo Seco while A Nathaniel and Shalie Jack scored for the losing team.

And MIC Tigers eked out a 4-3 victory over Palo Seco Settlement on goals from Jamaal Antoine scoring twice, Questelle Kyle Walters and Kerwin Stafford getting the other goals. Jevon John, Marlon Henry and Joel Weston scored for the losers.

But San Fernando Giants downed MIC by the same 4-3 scoreline one goals by Jodel Halls, Odell Fitz Allen, Marcus Billy and Bryan Constantine. Jody Allsop scored a double and Questelle Walter the other for the losing team.

And Penal Rock Road recovered from their shock defeat to edge Diamond United 3-2. Damian LaFortune scored a double and Simon George the other for Rock Road while Ken Wright got both goals for Diamond.
