GUAYA UNITED rallied from a 1-0 half-time deficit to defeat Matura ReUnited 2-1 on Sunday, in Match Day 30 action of the CNG National Super League Premiership Division.

As a result, Guaya United narrowed the gap between themselves and Defence Force to four points, but Guaya have played 25 games, one less than Defence Force - who were on a bye on Sunday. At the Matura Recreation Ground, the hosts had an 11th minute lead following a goal by Dorian Robinson, but Sherlon Campbell knotted the scores in the 50th.

The game seemed likely to end in a draw, but Jody Allsop guaranteed full points for Guaya, when he found the back of the net in the 88th.

Tobago FC Phoenix 1976 remained in third place after a 2-0 triumph over Police at the Canaan Recreation Ground. Nigel Thomas broke the deadlock in the 52nd and Lejandro Williams sealed the win with a goal in the 80th. Siparia Spurs moved up one spot to fifth after a 2-0 victory over Bethel United at the Montgomery Recreation Ground.

Daniel Diaz (56th) and Jamal John (72nd) were the goal-getters for Siparia.

Another team who jumped a notch on the points standings were Marabella Family Crisis Centre. They are now in seventh position after overcoming Petrotrin Palo Seco 2-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium Training Ground in Marabella.

Akeems Grant put Palo Seco in front after 51 minutes but Marabella responded with goals from Dwayne Edwards (79th) and Renefor Martin (89th).

The fixture between La Horquetta SA and Stokely Vale FC ended in a 1-1 draw at the Larry Gomes Stadium Training Field in Arima. Shannon Sandy netted for Stokely Vale in the 25th but Kern Roberts equalised in the 69th. Two matches were rescheduled to February 14 - Club Sando Moruga versus Real Maracas FC, which was originally set for the Grand Chemin Recreation Ground in Moruga; and WASA.
