NEWLY-CROWNED Super League knockout champions Joe Public continued their winning ways when they edged Westside Super Starz 2-1 in the bmobile National Super League on Wednesday at the training field of the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Away team Joe Public took a 25th minute lead through striker Brent Antoine, before Christon Freitas levelled the score at 1-1 in the 33rd minute. Trinidad and Tobago national striker Andre Toussaint eventually won the game for Joe Public when scoring in the 71st minute.
In another game, Stokely Vale were held 2-2 by Eagles United at Woodford Lodge, Chaguanas.
Both Stokely Vale and Joe Public are now level atop the league with 22 points, but the former have a better goal difference. However, Joe Public have a game in hand.
Joe Public picked up the first piece of silverware of the 2011 season on Sunday when they edged Stokely Vale 2-1 in the Super League knockout final at Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago.
Antoine (23rd and 61st) scored in each half to give the Eastern Lions a 2-0 lead, before Trovonne James got a consolation goal for the Tobago side in the 82nd minute.
