A rugged central defender with plenty of power and pace to unsettle opposing forwards, Atiba Charles made his way into the national squad through his performances in the Trinidad league for W Connection FC.

After starting with Point Fortin Civic Centre, he has become a mainstay for W Connection FC in the last four seasons.

Atiba made his international debut in November 2003, and started three matches in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
