KHADIJAH DE FREITAS scored a double as St George’s College defeated St Joseph Convent Port-of-Spain 2-0 on November 25 to retain the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Under-15 Girls Championship crown.

The final took place at the St Mary’s College Ground in St Clair, but it was delayed by four days after heavy rainfall made the surface unplayable on the original November 21 date.

But the St George’s lasses did not let the setback faze them as they repeated as champions of the national Under-15 category.

St George’s also retained their East Zone Under-15 trophy this year.

The players, as well as the school administrators, extended congratulations to the coaching staff of Gregory Walcott and his deputy Bryan Edwards for their roles in the team’s success.
