CHAMPIONS Stokely Vale made an inauspicious start to the new season in the Premier League of the Tobago Football Association.

The champs were held to a 0-0 draw by Hills United in their opener on Friday.

Castara Retreats Goal City whipped newly promoted Federal Northside 3-1 to take the early lead on goal-difference.

Kayode Legall scored a double and Kenyon Manswell the other goal for the winners. Joel Harry got the consolation.

Charlotteville Unifiers, with a goal from Kern Christmas edged Sidey’s 1-0 while Roxborough Lakers out-scored the other promoted team Mason Hall USSS 3-2 in their game.

Dyke Reid got a double and Kern Harris got the other goal for the winning team while Casper Cupid and Dwight Hayling scored for the Mason Hall men.

And Earlbrokes edged Georgia 2-1 in another match with Deon Thomas and Brindsley Reid doing the scoring for the winners. Kerron Phillip netted for the losing team.

In Zonal League action, leaders 1976 FC Phoenix and Bethel Uprising played to a 1-1 draw.

D’Juan Melville scored for Phoenix while Akeel Scott got the equaliser.
