Conrad Smith has rejoined Caledonia AIA prior to the end of the December/January transfer window and a lot is expected from the 30 yearold forward.

It’s one of many returns for Smith at the Morvant/Laventille club having played in the lower leagues of Canada and also Joe Public during his career.

“Conrad Smith is the outside, or legitimate child of Caledonia since he was 9 years old,” enlightened Caledonia AIA longstanding head coach Jamaal Shabazz.

“And like all families, there are always ups and downs. Also people always seek better avenues. Now that he is back in Trinidad, it is our son coming home. We expect him to do well with us at a time when we will be without four or five T&T National U-23 players in February and March (during Olympic qualifiers and preparation).”

Strikers Jamal Gay and Trevin Caesar, defenders Aquil Selby and Nuru Abdallah Muhammad and goalkeeper Zane Coker, all first team players, are members of the Trinidad and Tobago Under 23 team preparing for final round Olympic qualifiers against such teams as CONCACAF giants Mexico and Honduras.

Caledonia will take on Police FC from 6pm at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Tuesday in a rescheduled Round One Match Day Three fixture with Conrad Smith expected on the roster in the absence of Gay and Caesar currently with the U-23s in Tobago for a friendly clash against Finland at the Dwight Yorke Stadium on Wednesday.
