He continues to show he belongs on the world stage; the W Connection custodian had another sterling performance between the uprights, and was mainly responsible for Connection securing a 1-0 win over Puerto Rico Islanders on Wednesday night at the national stadium in Bayamon.

Jan Michael Williams is certainly one of the bright young talents in Trinidad and Tobago and has a big future ahead of him, as he seeks to follow in the footsteps of rich history of Trinidad and Tobago goalkeepers.

Following another great performance for his club W Connection, the 22 year old goal keeper humbly said, “The team really performed creditably, and I was just doing my part to ensure we got the result we needed, and we were successful, so my performance was part of a great team effort,” said the modest goalkeeper.
When pressed about his own form, the soft spoken young man said, “It is my desire to play at the highest level, I am of the belief that I am a class player, and I have what it takes to be on the world stage, the Caribbean Club Championships is really a good medium for me to prove my worth and I think we came up against a quality team in the Puerto Rico Islanders and I was able to keep a clean sheet under some pressure.

When asked about his current form, he told ttptoleague.com, “I have always heard the saying that form is temporary and class is permanent, and I believe I am a class player, so even when I may not be at my top form, I can still put out a good performance,” however, he was quick to point out that he is still on a learning curve, “I am not ashamed to say I still have a lot to learn and the more games I play, I am sure I could only get better, I am always willing to take advice, and I am looking forward to the upcoming Digicel Cup which I know will be another learning experience for me, and it will all help me to eventually reach the level where I want to be at.”

Williams is hoping, W Connection remains on course to go on to become Caribbean Champions, he said, “At the beginning of the season one of our goals at W Connection was to once again become Caribbean Champions, and I think the team is at a point now where we all are hungry for it and we will be all working hard to achieve that goal, when the next round of competition comes around.”
