North East Stars Technical Director Everald ‘Gally’ Cummings is no longer with the Sangre Grande based Club.

Cummings took over at North East in September 2006, after the departure of Miguel Hackett ‘Gally’ confirmed to ‘ttproleague.com’ that he is no longer affiliated to the Club saying, “I am no longer with North East Stars. The arrangement I had at the Club was to take over until the end of the 2006 season to help with the players because their Coach Miguel Hackett was not able to carry on. I think I have done well with the team, even putting them into two finals before my time was up in December,” said the former national coach.

In 2006 North East Stars made the final of the Toyota Classic against Vibe CT 105 W Connection and the FA Trophy Competition against Super League Club WASA FC under the Technical Director ‘Gally’ Cummings, both matches the Grande men lost.

He went on to add that Club President Darryl Mahabir had discussions with him about the 2007 Pro League season, but he couldn’t take up the offer, “The President and Vice President of the Club have had talks with me about the 2007 season but I could not take up the offer because of the workload and my other commitments. The kind of work I had to take on would have been very difficult for me.

Club President Darryl Mahabir accepted the fact that I couldn’t carry on with the Club and told me he would have talks with his former coach James Mc Lean,” said the former Strike Squad coach.

The Sangre Grande based team was crowned Pro League Champions back in 2004 under Guyanese coach James Mc Lean in only their second season as a Pro League Club.

In 2006 under Technical Director Everald ‘Gally’ Cummings they finished 5th behind Joe Public, W Connection, San Juan Jabloteh and Caledonia AIA.‘Gally’ however, indicated he is still available to North East, “I would always be around if Club President Darryl Mahabir needs assistance with his team, but I am not able to commit full time.”

As to what his future plans are ‘Gally’ wasn’t ready to unveil his new commitments, but assured it would be football related saying, “Once it is ‘Gally’ Cummings, it is going to be about football, but I just don’t want to reveal anything until it materializes,” ended Mr. Cummings.
