Caledonia AIA responded positively to the loss of three of its main players to archrivals Joe Public by finding “more than suitable additions” according to Technical Director Jamaal Shabazz.

Commenting on the exodus of goalkeeper Michael Woods, midfielder Hayden Tinto and striker Conrad Smith all to neighbours Joe Public, Shabazz said, “Actually, I am happy for the guys as I see Joe Public as a stable step in their footballing life.

“I like to say if you want financial stability, the best facilities and everything in place then you have to go to Joe Public…..you will be well taken care of.

“But if you want to really develop as a player and enjoy your football then you must come to Caledonia,” he said.

Seemingly paying heed to Shabazz’s call is former Superstar Rangers striker Keyon “Muja” Edwards, former St. Anthony’s and CLICO San Juan Jabloteh youth goalkeeper Kevin Mussio and  England based National U23 player Judah Hernandez all been signed by the Morvant/Laventille based club this season.

Edwards who played with Caledonia’s youth team in 2002 and 2003 raised eyebrows in the TT Pro League last season scoring some good goals for Superstar Rangers.

“Muja”, (referring to Keyon Edwards) has proven that he can score goals at this level. And he has worked with us before and appreciates our style of play, explained Shabazz.

“I have always been a fan of young Mussio ever since I saw him save at U23 level for T&T against Guyana when I was coach there. He has good height, good reflexes and so far his work ethic is quite pleasing, added Shabazz.

Speedy winger Judah Hernandez is set to replace the talent of Tinto and Shabazz banks on him to get the job done.

“Judah will be more than a handful for opposing defences with his speed and cleverness while there are a couple other very exciting youngsters in the squad along with our regulars like (Densil) Theobald, Abdalla Phillips, Stephan David and Kareem Joseph,” added Shabazz.
