Under-20 women’s football captain, Mariah Shade, will be not fit enough to lead her team when called upon following a 43rd minute injury which led to her substitution in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) finals against Jamaica at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Sunday night.

Trinidad and Tobago’s National Under 20 Women’s Team began their quest for Germany 2010 in style with an easy 6-0 victory over St Kitts/Nevis in the second match of a double header on the opening day of action in the Caribbean Football Union qualifiers at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Wednesday.

Jamaica and regional rivals Trinidad & Tobago played to a 1-1 draw in their top-of-the-table CFU Under-20 Final Round World Cup qualifying tournament game at the Marvin Lee stadium here yesterday.

Mariah Shade will captain the T&T U-20 women’s team when it meets St Kitts in its opening match of the Caribbean Football Union’s Tournament beginning on Wednesday at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

In the opening match of today’s doubleheader at 4 p.m., Cuba meet St Kitts-Nevis for third spot and also the third Caribbean qualifying spot for January’s CONCACAF Final Round competition in Guatemala.

Eight overseas-based players have been drafted into a 26-member T&T Under-20 Women’s squad which goes into a live-in camp today for the Caribbean Football Union Final-Leg Qualifying Tournament next week. 

T&T Under-20 captain, Mariah Shade yesterday appealed to the public to come out and give support to the national team when it takes on Cuba at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, this evening in the Caribbean Football Union Final Round Qualifying Tournament.

Jamaal Shabazz, coach of the Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 women’s football team, is pleased to see the growth of the squad, during their recent Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Preliminary Round Group “B” play-offs against St Lucia.
