Eek

20.76 windy !

Here lies the weakness of most college coaches.  How can you have a pupil running 10.00 and 20.76w (so 21.00 basically)? I do not get that! I mean everyone isn't going to run their 100m time x2 but lawdddd....

No speed endurance!!!

Anyhow, that is one more 200m than certain others have run lately.  Yuh have to start somewhere....

Maybe the college coaches see that you dont need to be world class at the 200 to be good in the 100

Let's name the current crop of sprinters who are considered "good" at 100m but not at 200m........

GAY? POWELL? DIX? CARTER? ATKINS? GATLIN??

Let's stop talking that stupidness.  Even Donovan Bailey, painful as it was to watch, ran 20.3 - Ben Johnson's PR was around 20.00 and he was the prototypical short sprinter

Maybe the college coaches are clueless.

IF he drops to sub-20.50 by summer time, i will be satisfied. He should have done like Kelly-Ann and find his behind on the 4x400 team during the indoor season, but since he's pretty much a novice to the distance, frequent running should help to bring his time down.

I'm wondering if it would be a backward step for him to run a few four hundreds in the hope that it increases his speed endurance.....hmmmm probably

Even though I wasn't suggestiing that he start running some quarters now, i don't see how it will hurt him if he was to jump on the 4x400 team and take a run.

Here is the men's 4x100m form the penn relays yesterday.
The order was:- Ronald S.-Bledman-J. Harper-D. Brown

Even though Darrell might not be doing every thing we like, he's still running good. Did well to hold his own here on anchor leg against Tyson G.

Richard on the 2nd leg on lane 7.....

Kelly-Ann anchors LSU to a blazing time of 42.59, which is the 3rd fastest time in colegiate history. The NCAA record is 42.50.

I have to agree with you there Aviator on Darrel. I thought he ran well at Mt.Sac and he looked good this week on anchor. Gay didn't gain on him. Darrel has excellent top end-speed, always has. I just hope he stays injury free and has a good year.
