Oasis join Pro League.
By: Lasana Liburd (Express).

The Trinidad and Tobago Pro League yesterday announced their new partnership with local purified drinking water company, Oasis, which is a branch of the S.M. Jaleel and Company Limited, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium's VIP room in Port of Spain.

Oasis' Caribbean group brand manager, Lindon Mohammed, declined to give the financial details of their three year deal-he insisted it was "hundreds of thousands of dollars"-but the local Pro League will now receive "100,000 cases of water per annum" to distribute among their stakeholders, which includes the clubs, players, referees, match commissioners and fans.

Oasis also promised assistance in marketing and "give aways and fun-filled events" for patrons. Mohammed told the gathering, which included representatives from eight of the ten clubs, that S.M. Jaleel and Company showed their commitment to sport by sponsorship deals in the fields of cricket, cycling and taekwondo. He described the Pro League as "a perfect brand fit" for Oasis.

"We have common ground in developing young people throughout the Caribbean," said Mohammed. "We are very humbled and excited to be a part of this process."

Pro League CEO Dexter Skeene praised Oasis' involvement, which he described as a step in the right direction towards making clubs more self-sufficient.

"The more of these partnerships that the Pro League and its clubs enter into," said Skeene, "the easier it becomes for clubs to function as world class organisations Once you have companies providing critical performance products to our clubs, it contributes to the viability and sustainability of the league.

"This partnership will also benefit the players directly as they will now be drinking the best water we have to offer in Trinidad and Tobago."

Oasis, who were founded in 2006, boasts of being the only bottled water in the Caribbean approved by beverage quality certification programme, NSF International.
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Another move in the right direction; more positive moves by corporate TNT companies like this will go a a long ways in keeping our league as a viable entity, providing opportunities for our players and  keeping the dreams alive for many to come.    :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Little known fact: The online transportation medium called Uber was pioneered in Trinidad & Tobago in the 1960's. It was originally called pullin bull.
