Curious to see how Sorillo will do in the 200 ... since Ato and Neil da silva we haven't had much fire in the 200m

On a side note, I really hope Richard comes ready to run at this meet. There is a very real possibility that he might might have a repeat placing of his kingston run.....

Hope RT performs well. But I do not see him getting under 10 in this race. That being said, I am predicting a Jamaican sweep (battle between Mullings and Carter). Gatlin, Rogers and Frater fighting for third. RT getting 5th maybe 4th.

I made that prediction based on the fact that everybody in that race for the exception of Nesta Carter has either already beaten him or has recorded a faster time or a combination of the both in the past 4 weeks. So it will be interesting to see if he could come back and get some scalps.

Yeah that would give us some kind of guage or where he is at or rather where he is going!

With all the talk about Caster Semenya looking like a man, she got beat out by 2 other "beauties" today:

1st runner up - Montsho from Botswana (she born so)

and the winner is - Carmelita Jeter from the USA....the woman face looking wider than in previous years and muscularity is way up - 10.70?? hmmm

But jeets got a nice face! wow Jeets with a 10.70 well i could say that i can't expect less because she is capable! Her technique is impeccable and when she gets the start correct no-one is beating her! It's about time she produces.

Richard has significantly improved... he has dropped from 10.13/14- 10.01! Ignore the placing...he's getting into shape and by nationals should be running sub-10 again which is great to see.

Steve Mullings and Kelly have the same coach so i'd like to see what she comes up with in her next race!

Josanne has been struggling with injuries which is a shame but she's got the right mindset to work her way back up so by next year all things should be fine again.

I think to ignore the placing is irresponsible. Times are dependant on a lot of factors and all those factors were in the positive for a fast time in Eugene today nd are vary rarely all at one meet like they were today. Intrinsically speaking he has hardly improved over his 10.13 Rome run. he has lost once again to everyone that beat him in from the JA invite, plus some. As of right now IMO the following are ahead of him...

Tyson(9.79), Bolt(9.91), Asafa(9.93), Mullings(9.80), Carter(9.92), Rodgers(9.85), Gatlin(9.97), Frater(9.94), Blake(9.80w), Lemaitre(10.00), Dix(10.00) etc.

Luckily the finals are not next week, or he would not be making the final, but there are about 6 guys on that list I believe that he will not get past this season, regardless of how much he improves. he has some serious work to do.

Competition is everything!

Fair point fair point but i still believe that right now placing shouldn't be his priority- as it is more important at the world champs rather than at these meets. For now good placement is a confidence booster which i admit he does need but his focus should be on getting in the right shape and having the right form(also running more 200's) and dropping those times and improving from there. He knows that he can run 9.8x so he needs to get into that mindset of achieving it.

...but if he keeps placing 7th/8th, he may not get into A races with the quality competition he needs

All he is showing is that faster competition pulls him to a "loss at a faster time" because he simply isnt beating anyone! ...... in my opinion everyone is in the same season so how is it at this time they are all so far ahead of him? The more they beat him the more their confidence raise and his evaporates then he has to fight against the physical and mental aspect of the beast ... this season .. he in trouble!
The most damning aspect is the fact that he isn't strong as these guys  and whilst they have all looked to have gotten stronger he has not!

They think running 10.0, 9. week after week is easy, and have become accustomed to it in this day and age.
One thing I notice is that he is not as muscular as when he was at LSU. He may be stronger in his lifts but he may not be as healthy as before to withstand the high level workouts. Given that he is still training at LSU, and most probably still has access to the weight training facilities and the strength coach, the only difference I suspect is the scholarship meal plan vs. cooking for oneself as a pro athlete. Big difference, especially if he never cooked for himself before leaving T&T. I SUSPECT that the answer may simply lie in some good, balanced, nutritional home cooking, that supplements could never replace. It must be hard especially when he is on the road, if that base of "blue food" not there, unlike our Jamaican friends who train and live at home.
