Women--Kai Selvon (200m 4x400m), Sparkle McKnight (400m 4x400m), Shawna Fermin (400m 4x400m), Jessica James (4x400m), Gabriela Cumberbatch (400m hurdles, 4x400m), Alena Brooks (800m, 4x400m), Ashlee Smith (discus)

Throw Shawna into the mix and we got a womens 4x400 team.

That would be nice.

The incredible thing about that race is that he basically ran the whole leg in lane two and then went to lane three on the straight and then back to lane one so that is about 10- 20m extra being run

Well, well what a run. Little curious as to why he did not run the final. Hope they just pulled him as a precaution after such a big PR, but either way this result just increases our chances of putting a man in the 100m final in London and breaking our 4x1 record.

Hoping the rest of the guys can draw inspiration from KB's performance! Looks like we have a new number 1. I hope he can just get better and better! Wishing Richard a speedy and full recovery. If only he was 100% we would have def broken our record. If he does return to good form he can be in sub 10 shape and ready to do damage.

Semoy seems to be rounding into better form than she was in before her ban. If all is well she should be at 11 flat/low 11.0x by trials if not sooner. I do believe that the ladies will run at least 42.2 if not quicker.

You would think that this would have been on the main page on the iaaf site. If Bledman was American or Jamaican, this 9.89 would have been featured on the main page of the iaaf site.

I just hope it was not a "clermont" run or they used the clock at the crawford stadium.  If everything is legit, well done KB.  Hopefully RT can step up now.

True that, Gawd on Pitch, the performances of all 4 of the competitors faster than KB (Usain, Yohan, Justin and Asafa) were heralded by "front-page" splashes on papers and websites. Not even today's local T&T paper features it, and he hasn't gotten a "kkkkhnnn" from any major track and field websites. I just hope he uses this slight as major motivation to prove a point in upcoming meets.

Yeah he is 18 still and I was warned he was coming. He has arrived.

He could run 44 really low this year because I still don't think he knows the event fully. Kirani-ish.

As for Bledman, the IAAF in this case gets a bligh because this was at a HIGH SCHOOL meet, so not exactly on their radar.  Below pros they aren't exaclty plugged in.

The other perfs by Gatlin, Blake et al came at their (IAAF) meetings which would obviously be immediately picked up by them. To be honest, people in the industry do not look to iaaf.org for results and news. Track and Field News is what most track heads bookmark for results, news and headlines.

As Thompson learned last year, the pressure of this 9.89 for Bledman now is that you have to do it again....when it counts.

And yes Kwame fell asleep on this one (again this meet if I wasn't on twitter I probably would not even know it was being run)

The biggest TnF news of the weekend though, to me, is this:

http://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/track-and-xc/post/_/id/3643/golden-south-shocker-tyreek-hill-steals-the-show-with-20-14-200-2-all-time

not Bledman's 9.89, not even "Babes of Track and Field" star Jessica Ennis' new UK heptathlon record compares to a high school kid running 20.14

BTW that would make him the 2nd fastest Trini ever at the distance I believe.

Also, my "find" from last year who I picked to make the USA team LAST YEAR (she is like a USA Marie-Jo Perec) Kimberlyn Duncan of LSU ran 22.22,  .7 ahead of 2nd place at NCAA Regionals. This is the 2nd fastest collegiate time ever run and second only to Dawn Sowell's 22.04 CR set a high altitude a long time ago. What will she run when she has some competition. oh BTW, 22.22 was the time that VCB ran to win worlds last year (albeit into a headwind)

Too many Trinis run PB's at the national stadium never to reproduce those time anywhere after.  Something stinks.

I am Happy for Bledman, I hope he goes from strength to strength.

So what about those who do not run PBs in Trinidad but run them elsewhere, like Jehue for instance.

The track isn't short, and if the timing system was off, then you'd see PBs in the 200m, 400m and 400m H, events "short" enough where you'd see the difference.

What about the visiting athletes from the US and Caribbean who do not run PBs in Trinidad?

Could it just be that T&T athletes run well on their home turf? Sounds believable to me.
