Finally some good news regarding racism in football or too lenient of a punishment?

Still a joke, in the UK you can get banned from every stadium in the country for chucking coins, and have to check in with the police before fixtures.]https://metro.co.uk/2017/09/25/football-fan-banned-from-every-stadium-in-the-uk-for-throwing-50ps-at-rivals-6953731/]every stadium in the country for chucking coins, and have to check in with the police before fixtures. Racist chants can and often do result in lengthy or life-time stadium bans.

Still, UEFA lead from the front when it comes to disgustingly pathetic racism punishments

At a glance the breadth of the punishment seems to be fine, although enforcement must be assured. However, its duration stirs more debate.

The offender was the instigator of the chants. Should/should not instigators be punished more than those who join him or her in chanting?

Balotelli will become a voice on this stage. Some comments from him in 2018.

Part of the problem in the Italian context is that there are fewer interlocutors speaking in Italian about racism and its dynamics in an informed way. In France for instance there are many more voices activated in the discourse. Addressing racism in the language in which it is staged is a fundamental requirement to be invoked in combating racism.

“There is an incredible hypocrisy and a lack of desire to resolve the problem.”

“Doing nothing is the equivalent of saying you agree with those who make racist chants."

“We must realise that the world of football is not racist, but rather that there is racism in Italian culture, French culture, European culture and more generally in white culture. We must have the courage to say that white people think they are superior and believe that they are. It is up to them to find a solution to their problem.

“Black people would never treat white people in this manner, for any reason. History shows this.”
