chinapoo_richardFormer Long Island University men’s soccer great Richard Chinapoo was selected to the NCAA College Cup 50th Anniversary Team it was announced Thursday by the NCAA. Chinapoo was one of 11 former student-athletes and one coach selected to the team through an online voting process. Chinapoo was chosen among a list of 32 student-athletes and six coaches.

The UMFK men’s soccer team defeated county and conference foe 7-0 in the annual Potato Barrel Classic Thursday evening at Presque Isle Middle School.  The undefeated and NAIA #10 Bengals scored five first half goals to take their eighth straight Potato Barrel over Maine Presque Isle.  Keith Williams II (Trinidad & Tobago) scored the opening goal in the 25th minute and finished the contest with a hat trick.

University of West Florida women's soccer player Dernelle Mascall earned her second career Gulf South Conference Player of the Week award. In two matches this past week, Mascall netted at least a goal and an assist in both matches to become the Argos third consecutive Player of the Week award winner.

Kwesi PetersonDivision I Lakeland Community College (Kitland, Ohio) defender Kwesi Peterson and Barton Community College (Great Bend, Kan.) goalkeeper Donovan Dowling along with Division III Dutchess Community College (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) forward Nick Jerussi and Anne Arundel Community College (Arnold, Md.) goalie Travis Young are this week's NJCAA Men's Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending October 18.

The University of New Haven men's soccer team defeated the hosting Stonehill College Skyhawks 3-1 Wednesday afternoon. With the win the Chargers improve to 4-12-0 overall and 3-9-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Skyhawks fall to 4-9-2 overall and 1-9-1 in conference play.
