Liverpool defeated Arsenal 5-0 on Saturday as action continued in Shaka’s Champions League at the Aurtis Whitley Sporting Ground, Malick.
Liverpool’s Shakily Forde was the star of the show with a hat-trick in the rout while his teammates Akeem Pierre and Emmanuel Antoine scored the other two goals.
Liverpool fans were happy to see the team redeeming itself after its draw with Chelsea in its first meeting. Arsenal fans were left disconsolate though after succumbing to their second straight defeat of the tournament. Their first loss was against Real Madrid on July 19 when the season kicked off. In other matches on the weekend, Chelsea got past Real Madrid 2-1 in an exciting contest. Justir Mero and Dwane Thomas scored for Chelsea while Michael John scored Real Madrid’s only goal.
It was Chelsea’s first win for the season after their draw against Liverpool while Real Madrid suffered their first loss. Shaka’s Champions League continues this weekend from 4 pm with the seventh and eighth matches of the tournament. The tournament is in its third weekend of games.
Arsenal will play Chelsea this Saturday followed by Bayern Munich versus Barcelona. Liverpool will play Real Madrid on Sunday, followed by Manchester United versus Manchester City.
