JACK WEEDON and Kemuel Rivers scored two goals apiece as leaders Club Sando crushed the inconsistent Malabar FC 8-0 on Wednesday, at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, in Match Day 13 action of the National Super League.
Also finding the back of the net for Sando were Jesse Downing, Kevon Woodley, Kevon Neaves and Simeon Augustus.
WASA FC remained in second place after a narrow 2-1 win over Coosal’s Las Lomas United at the Madras Recreation Ground, Cunupia. Kerron Clarke and Kareem Freitas found the back of the net for WASA, while Jerron Francis got the lone strike for Las Lomas.
Reigning champions Guaya United are four points behind the top two, but they stayed in third spot after spanking NLCB La Horquetta SA 4-1 at the Guayaguayare Recreation Ground. Jody Allsop scored twice, Kendes Garcia and Kevin Jagdeosingh added one apiece for the victors, while Keston Jones responded for La Horquetta.
Shackiel Henry notched a pair while Brent Garcia also scored as Petrotrin Palo Seco took care of Stokely Vale 3-1 at the Plymouth Recreation Ground. Krishawn Joseph netted the consolation for Stokely Vale.
In Wednesday’s other fixtures, 1976 FC Phoenix defeated FC Santa Rosa 3-0 at the Canaan Recreation Ground while Defence Force battled to a 1-1 draw against Real Maracas at the Macqueripe Youth Camp, Chaguaramas. Match Day 14 action will take place this weekend.
