Moruga FC and Pt Fortin Civic Centre both registered comfortable wins to lead their respective groups when matches in the Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League continued on the weekend.

In the Roy Jagroopsingh seven-team Group A Division, Moruga, spurred on by its home crowd, whipped Cedar Hill United 3-1.

The scorers for Moruga were Nigel John, Tyrel Gabriel and Anderson Toussaint while Rajesh Ragoonath was on target for Cedar Hill.

With the win, Moruga moved to ten points from four matches, four more than the University of T&T (UTT) which crushed Union United FC2 8-1 led by a beaver-trick from Jamal Creighton at Tarouba Link Road.

Isiah Mejias also got a hat-trick for UTT and Theon Brown, the other while Jevaughn Christon netted a consolation item for Union United.

The match between Marabella Family Crisis Centre, fourth on the table with four points, and Diamond United carded for Ben Lomond Recreation Ground, did not come off.

In the Winston St Clair Group B, Pt Fortin Civic blasted host Pluck Road United 4-0 with a goal each from Atiba Athill, Anderson Morrison, Eddisson Smart and Orin Branker for a third straight win and maximum nine points, one ahead of former joint three-way leaders Giants, which battled to a 1-1 draw with Penal All Stars.
