Husani Thomas and Calvi Gazette scored two goals each as Edinburgh 500 FC ovecame its Hugo Francis Memorial Cup final loss to Cunupia FC, 1-4, with a 5-0 mauling of Leeds when the CRIL-sponsored Central Football Association Premier Division resumed after a two-week break.

Thomas opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute and added his second ten minutes from full-time while Gazette got his double, in the 30th and 87th, and Crayus Rampersad, the other in the 23rd for the winners, now second on the table with 16 points from eight matches, eight behind the perfect Cunupia FC which can stretch its lead today when it faces Enterprise Life Sport at the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground, from 6.30 pm.

The match between Xtrafoods Chaguanas and Perseverance United was called off after 62 minutes with Chaguanas ahead 1-0 thanks to a tenth minute strike by Kwesi Calliste.

However, Calliste team-mate Jamal Lucas was issued a second yellow-card and despite coming off the field did not move far away from the technical area as designated by the officials forcing the match to be called off, with the result now dependant on a meeting by the Disciplinary Committee.

The other match featuring Enterprise Youths and Arawak Combined was not played due to the late arrival of the latter.
