Vernon Wilson scored a hat-trick to lead Bethel United to a comfortable 5-1 whipping of Leeds United and with it a three-point lead at the top of the Tobago Football Association Premier Division on Wednesday.

Downie Marcelle added the other two for the winners, now with 35 points from 15 matches, three clear of Roxborough Lakers, while Mason Hall USS is next with 31 and Georgia FC, the other team still in serious contention for the crown, 30 points.

Georgia stayed in the title race via a 7-1 hammering of Lambeau FC led by a double from Deon Orr. In the two other matches, defending champion St Clair Coaching School and Sidey’s both won to continue their fight to stave off relegation.
