The Trinidad and Tobago Under-15 women football team is currently in training for the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics, which is scheduled to take place in Singapore from August 14 to 26. Coach of the team is Marlon Charles.

After months of screening sessions in various zones, almost 100 U-15 girls came out to the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya yesterday, to participate in a Zonal Tournament, organised by the T&T Football Federation and the Local Organising Committee. Teams from South, East, Central and Tobago were represented at the tournament and competed against each throughout the day, in order to give national coaches, including Marlon Charles and Stephan De Four a fair chance at effectively selecting a national U-15 team.

Thirty Under-15 girl footballers will be chosen tomorrow and Thursday after screening sessions, by the T&T Football Federation (TTFF). The sessions will be an opportunity for the TTFF to look at the U-15 girls in competition as it seeks to cream off the top thirty players for further development and training in preparation for the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago will contest a Caribbean girls football final for the umpteenth time when they meet in the CFU Under-15 Invitational final at 4 pm tomorrow at the Marvin Lee Stadium. Immediately afterwards, the boys Under-17 final will be contested from 6 p.m. at the same venue.
