Theon FrancisTheon Francis was in the right place at the right time to lift the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men’s soccer team to a dramatic 1-0 victory over Gallaudet University Sunday afternoon.

Francis connected on a shot in the 85th minute to help Lincoln finish the week with two victories in three weeks. Francis slid a low-line drive past the Gallaudet keeper. The Lions improved to 2-4 overall.

Sophomore goalie Andre Wilkinson made seven saves and earned his first shutout of the season. Wilkinson made several highlight quality saves to help keep the game scoreless and give the Lions a chance to win. Lincoln finished with 21 shots.

Francis enjoyed a strong week. He scored three goals. Also turning in solid efforts for Lincoln were Rahsaan Lisimba, Seye Adekayne, Jerrell Hooker, Adedotun Osho, Kirk Bishop, Jarek Harris and Joseph Forde.

Lincoln returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it hosts Penn State-Abington starting at 4:00 p.m.
