Mercer County Community College escaped John L. DiMarco Field with a victory Saturday, scoring in double overtime to win 3-2 over Monroe Community College in men's soccer action.
The Tribunes trailed 2-0 in the second half before mounting a furious comeback. Ian McGimsey (Brighton, NY/Brighton) came through with MCC's first goal with 18:35 remaining.
Monroe tied it up in the 82nd minute. Lukas Risto (Toronto, ON/Don Bosco) played a ball in front and after it bounced off a Mercer defender, Shastri Spencer (Cresco, PA/Notre Dame) slammed it home to make it 2-2.
The teams played through a scoreless 10 minutes of overtime before Aburmad won it in the second OT.
Reiss Williams (Manchester, England/Trinity Church) had five saves for Monroe (2-4).
