DelpinoRadford forward Jeremy Delpino has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 29-Oct. 5, it was announced today by the League office.

Delpino, a redshirt senior from Arouca, Trinidad, scored a goal in both games he played in, including a multi-goal game against League foe Presbyterian, to lead Radford to a 2-0 record on the week.  He scored his first goal of the week on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to lift the Highlanders to a 1-0 win over Longwood on Oct. 1.  Two days later against the Blue Hose, Delpino picked up his second game winner of the week as he found the back of the net on a free kick from 25 yards out in the 36th minute.  He added another goal in the second half as Radford went on the 3-1 win.  With Radford’s two wins at home last week, the Highlanders have now won 11-straight matches at Cupp Stadium.

Also nominated for men’s soccer player of the week for Week 6:  Ross Kelly (Coastal Carolina), Josh Boateng (Liberty), Davis Orders (Presbyterian), Alex Morrow (UNC Asheville) and Matthew Skonicki (Winthrop).
