University of Bridgeport senior midfielder Reuel Brown (Armia, Trinidad & Tobago) and junior goalkeeper Milos Suljagic (Belgrade, Serbia) have been named this week’s East Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. This week’s honor is the second consecutive week that Suljagic has been selected as the ECC’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Brown scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Bentley University in UB’s final match in the 2009 Franklin Pierce Invitational that kept the Purple Knights undefeated on the season at 2-0-1. Brown scored the game-winning goal in the 25th minute of the match and added an insurance tally when he scored directly off a corner kick in the 86th minute.

Suljagic recorded two shutouts last week to run his scoreless streak to 290 minutes so far this season. He blanked Franklin Pirece making five saves in a double overtime 0-0 draw and made two stops in a 2-0 win over Bentley in the Franklin Pierce Labor Day Invitational. Milos has made a total of 12 saves in recording three consecutive clean sheets in three matches played so far in 2009.
