Andre Anderson (Manchester, Jamaica) scored two goals to help lead the UMFK men's soccer team to a 5-1 win over Maine Presque Isle in the annual Potato Barrel Classic Wednesday evening in Presque Isle. The game was also a mutal Sunrise Conference opener.

UMFK got on the board just 30 seconds into the contest as UMFK junior keeper Giovanni Sinlcair (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) sent a punt into the lower third of the UMPI defense onto Anderson's foot, who found Keith Williams (SO. Trinidad & Tobago) at the top of the 18.  Williams finished over the outstretched arms of UMPI keep Richard Felbaum (six saves on 11 shots) for the quick 1-0 advantage.  UMFK built a 4-0 lead by halftime as two Anderson goals in the 38th and 43rd minute were sandwitched around a Henly Comrie (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) goal in the 43rd minute.  UMPI got the first goal of the second half as Joshua Peaslee scored on an assit from Will Cole.  Junior Walford Stewart (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) complete the scoring on the day when he scored an unassisted goal for UMFK in the 74th mintue.  UMFK outshot UMPI 21-10 and had a 11-5 advantage with shots on goal.  Sinclair came up with four saves on the day.  NAIA #7 UMFK moves to 3-0 (1-0 SC) on the year while UMPI falls to 2-1 (0-1 SC).

The "Potato Barrel Classic" win is the ninth straight for UMFK but UMPI still holds an overall 18-14 edge in the series which dates back to 1978 (31 years).  The ninth straigh win by UMFK matches the nine game winning streak which UMPI held from 1979 - 1987.  The Bengals won the first classic in 1978, 5-1.
